Project cycle

Six steps. Published timelines.

From listing to issuance, each step of the CERT project cycle has a defined timeline and a documented decision output.

Listing & eligibility screen

Completeness check within 10 working days. Deficiencies notified in writing.

Design & methodology alignment

Project Design Document (PDD) is prepared against the applicable CERT methodology and Rulebook. All submitted project documents are published on registration.

Independent validation

By a CERT-accredited VVB of your choice, subject to independence and rotation limits.

Registration decision

Within 30 days of a complete validated package. Decisions and reasons published.

Monitoring & verification

Digital MRV supported. Materiality thresholds published. Verification to ISO 14064-3.

Issuance

Serialised CRUs are minted to the project account within 30 days of a complete verified package.

What we ask of every developer

  • Transparent, auditable financial model (single additionality test).
  • Uncontested land/resource rights and, where applicable, FPIC.
  • Digital MRV where technically feasible.
  • Signed representations on safeguards, anti-corruption, and human rights.
  • Commitment to publication of all project documents.
